Redskins GM Bruce Allen made it clear Thursday that he doesn't plan to release Donovan McNabb or Albert Haynesworth anytime soon.
McNabb's agent apparently couldn't convince Allen to cut his client free. The Redskins will hold onto both players in an attempt to extract draft picks through offseason trades. Neither player will bring more than a late-round pick with the Redskins over a barrel, and it remains likely that McNabb will ultimately be released. It doesn't matter what McNabb would bring in a trade. Nobody would trade for that contract anyway, but that doesn't matter.

If you want to rebuild, you have to let him go. You can't have that ego on the team while preparing your next QB. You're setting yourself up for problems in the locker room.
