October 12, 2012 |Local viewership has plummeted from last season. Through the first four games of 2011, the Cowboys were averaging a 35.3 rating. They ended the first quarter of this season at 29.6. That’s a drop of about 147,000 homes per game.

Put another way: They’ve lost the equivalent of the Rangers audience. The Rangers averaged about 151,700 homes per game in their record-breaking 2012 season on Fox Sports Southwest.

Looking ahead, Fox has the next three Cowboys games and will have three different broadcast crews in the booth. For the Ravens, it will be Sam Rosen and Brian Billick. At Carolina, it will be Kenny Albert, Daryl Johnston and Tony Siragusa. When the Giants visit Cowboys Stadium, Thom Brennaman and Troy Aikman will work the game.

Does it even matter? The TV contracts are already signed.

It's not like any less money will be going to Jerry.

Yup.

I'm actually shocked that there is not a Dallas Cowboys Network yet. It must be written in the CBA or something. You know Jerry would be all over that...

I remember watching it in December 2006 in Tucson, where my folks spend the winter.

Wonder what the national ratings have been for our games... The Giants one had to be huge just being the first game of the year, but I wonder about the other three.

And is anyone else kind of surprised they decide the announcing teams so early? What if the Giants go in the tank between now and then? I guess with that matchup, it might not matter.
