I seem to recall some stud RT during the Parcells years who never played due to a bad knee or something

I don't recall signing anyone other than Columbo during those years. We drafted two tackles in the 2nd round who never played.

I recall awhile back, in BTB that if we were to cut both Livings and Bernie, we would gain about $8 million in cap space the following year.

Keeping Livings next year would have counted $4.1 on the cap. Cutting him will cost us $2.1M in cap room. So there's $2M.

Keeping Bernadeau in 2014 will count $3,574,166 towards the cap. Releasing him in the offseason will cause a cap hit of $2,648,333. That frees up only $925,833 in cap room. If he was designated a June 1st cut in 2014, he would count about $1.3M in 2014 and then another $1.3M in 2015. So using the June 1st designation, would create about $2.27M in cap room next year.

Bernadon't just needs one more nail in the coffin, and it's coming.

Okay, I thought about it some more.

His 1.7M base and 700K prorated bonus were already on this year's cap. He counts $2.4M on the cap. We released him and since his base is guaranteed, he still counts $2.4M. Cutting him today did not cut into any cap room we had left. He counted $2.4M this year no matter what. He'll count $2.1M towards 2014.

I dunno, there's been so many bad moves made by this organization, I can't keep track anymore.

The Roy Williams move has to be the worst. It still makes my blood boil.

Cutting him doesn't create a roster spot since he was on the IR and it doesn't save Jerry a dime (in real or cap money). We must have been fed up with him.

I think this organization understands math, money and how to manipulate the cap.

As to how they allocate the money ... well, that's where they get themselves in trouble sometimes.

Good riddance to Livings. The team is better off without him.

What a fucking fail.

I still remember all the "why don't u wait and see him play in cowboy uniform before you write him off????!!!!??!" Flying around this time last year.

Stupid sunava bitches signed two castoffs from two shitty o-lines and succeeded in selling it to this ignorant fan-base, for the most part.

Just like Barry Church is starting quality, and last year was all Rob Ryan's fault.

Livings and Bernadeau were just bad, poor decisions. Throwing several million dollars at them makes us look like morons.

I wish someone was actually accountable.

That's what happens when you have miss after miss in the draft. You resort to signing crap like those two.

But we replaced both of them with superior players without ruining the cap, so shut up you whiner!

It was that stupid philosophy that the organization held for a while.

They believed that "competition" worked like magic.... that if they acquired several mediocre players and threw them into a "competition," the winner would be competent.

In reality, a bucket of spare parts is just a bucket of spare parts no matter how much you shake the bucket.

I'd like to think that the front office has learned that their approach was wrong, but who knows.

Yeah, the lack of accountability is annoying.

The annoying part is this organization learning as it goes along.

It was a well oiled machine back when Jimmy was here. How we went from that to this bumbling retarded clusterfuck is beyond me.
