I'm officially not thrilled for next season. The guy wasted so much talent on defense at USC the last 2 years. I am glad about the move to a 4-3 and the idea they may actually upgrade at Safety.

DL of Ware, Ratliff, Price, and a new LDE. Crawford might be in that mix but we'd need to bring in a Bruce Irvin-type pass rushing specialist to rotate in with Crawford.

Lots of 5 and 4 star recruits. I realize those guys don't always pan out but how can they all miss?

TJ McDonald, Nickell Robey (if he declares), and Wes Horton will be drafted. Tony Burnett will be in someone's camp. Kiffin loves Safety Jawanza Sterling, who I can't stand, so he may get invited to our camp.

Next year's defense will produce more draftable players:

How about 4? You're forgetting Hatcher. I think he would excel in this defense.

Yeah, but the college and NFL games are totally different.

I dont think there's any real strategy or skill to college football anymore anyway with everyone running the same awful offensive style/scheme.

The safeties in this scheme play in the deep half, but they’ll also adjust or rotate to help in the running game by getting the extra defender in the box. Safeties also have to be able to see the entire field and understand where they fit in the coverage.

Maybe get more turnovers, probably get more pressure on the QB, not blow leads easily

And despite this "bend but dont break" term, they ranked at the top of the league in yards allowed almost every year when he was DC in Tampa, so it doesnt sound like they were bending much.

I like this kind of Defense. We have our LB's set for years and one of the best pass rushers(even if he's slowing down)

I think Rat could thrive as a 3 technique and Crawford could be a strong run stopping DE. Drafting a guy like Mingo could very easily allow us to apply pressure with just 4 guys.

all boils down to our pass rushers...which i dont think we have enough of..i didnt think we had enough last year..i damn sure dont think we have enough now with spencer..

i will dread this defense unless these guys prove they can get after the passer...

i like aggressive defenses..
