"We may, right off the bat, be in a lot of action if we decided to try to create something there," Jones said. "There's going to be some players there that we'd like to have, obviously.

"We've got a lot of draft ahead of us," Jones said.

We can only trade the first of the 4th rounders. But yeah, we still have enough to get back in the second or early 3rd.

This is garretts 2nd offseason, we could see some of his least favorite players jettisoned

Felix, Jenkins, McGee or the player who's position were upgrading could be dealt

I'd give up a couple picks for Konz.

We can't be serious about going into next season with Costa again.

Ginger del Negro is just happy he's not QB coach for Alabama right now, but I have more faith in Callahan than that.

The Pats have picks 48 and 62. Broncos have 36 and 57. Rams have 33, 39 and 45. Ravens have 35 and 60.

We know the Pats reportedly want to pick up more picks. For the sake of discussion lets look at their two picks and what it would cost.

48 is worth 525. 62 is worth 353. Our 81 is worth 213. Our first pick in the 4th is worth is worth 96.

Basically our 3rd and 4th would get us into the late 2nd unless somebody really wanted to move out badly.

If they can't get low enough to get Konz or a pass rusher, I'd stay put.

Andre Branch and who else is left?

I don't even care that much for branch.

I know we all will be super anxious by pick 81 but if anyone wants to trade down I'd consider it for 2013 draft picks. I'd love to go into a draft with multiple picks in the first 3 rounds.

Have a sneaky suspicion that Dallas is going to mortgage next years draft and go for it this year.
We lost 5 games in the 4th quarter that we were leading last year? We could have easily been 13-3 had our D been decent. Think we're going to try and trade away our 1st and 2nd next year to go after D players in the 2nd this year.

Andre Branch at OLB, Devon Still at DE and hope Ta'Amu falls to us in 3rd round?

Would you feel good about dumping next years 1st (number 32 :dbair) for a 2nd tonight?

We might have to throw in a 4th or 5th this year, next years picks are always valued 1 round later than current.

What? A 1st and a 4th for a 2nd? Hell no.

Guess it depends. I'm not a big fan of trading away the future first because you never know what could happen in any given season, but by getting Orton they did kinda cover themselves for the "worst case scenario" of possibly losing Romo for a long length of time or for the season. Orton's good enough that the season wouldnt be tanked and they'd still have a reasonable chance at the playoffs.

So with that said, if you are convinced next years first is in the 20's or later, and whoever you are eyeing tonight is a walk in starter or very key contributor NOW, then trading the future first and maybe a later pick isnt a bad idea.
