I can't figure out how someone that smart who also played 20 years in the league, part of which as a backup on one of the best teams of all time, can do some of the dumbest things as a head coach.

I still have to give him credit for having to deal with Jerry. The picture above sums up why this team hasn't won anything in 17 years.

By the way, who is the guy in the picture on the top far right? It looks like our old fullback Robert Thomas but I don't think it's him.

Watching the Det/GB matchup last night,I was reminded of how other teams handle certain situations.
The Pack started a rook at RT and had two rooks and a retread at RB.Throw in key pieces missing on the other side of the ball(Matthews & Woodson).
Yet they still turned in a great effort and donkey punched the hapless Lions.
We are reminded constantly this is a Hillbilly team,both by roster moves and continued mediocrity.
As long as Jerry thinks he's got a Ferrari and the proper staff to maintain it,the fans are screwed.

He may be smart as in book-smart, but he is football-dumb on so mnay levels. Jerry is who Jerry is. Always has been and always will be; that's no excuse. The lack or fundamentals, excution, focus, and discipline... that's all on Garrett.
