Doesn't make sense that he wouldn't have wanted to stay here forever? Why not?

I'm not saying he'd have left on that exact date, just that it wouldn't have been a lot longer. Maybe a year, maybe two at most.

Doesn't make sense that he says he was planning on leaving a few weeks later anyway.

It makes more sense that he would have, like you said, stuck around for another year or so if Orlando hadn't happened.

Take a walk hours after possibly winning his 3rd straight... makes much more sense.
