Jerry Jones wants playoff expansion because it would give Cowboys better shot at making field

IRVING – NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said in May that playoff expansion could be approved by the 2015 league year.
Owners meetings took place Wednesday at the Four Seasons Resort & Club at Las Colinas, however, playoff expansion was not discussed at length.
“It only came up in the sense that at one point, I mentioned that this would be something that we would address in March,” Goodell said. “I think it may have come up in the context of the competition committee before it, that they would be studying it further. That’s something that we will likely address in March but not before.”
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones remains a proponent for playoff expansion.
Why?
“I just think the Cowboys would have a better chance to get in if we could get a couple more teams in it,” Jones joked after the meetings. “That’s for the league all right, but it’s for the Cowboys as well. But seriously, for our fans, additional playoff games are a positive.”
