Homers are awful and they dominate as the majority of this fanbase unfortunately.

Name Names and Lets set up a sticky thread with their names posted so we can go back at anytime and laugh at them

Don Banks:
I think I saw where, until Robert Griffin III's boffo debut, no rookie quarterback had led his team to a 40-point showing in a season opener since 1950. Now that's a statistic with a little heft to it. None of the other four rookie quarterbacks who started last week led offenses that topped 21 points, let alone won their openers in a hostile setting like the Superdome. And Griffin did it while somehow managing to never once look like a rookie quarterback.

Personally, I think Luck will have the better career, but I also thought that Julius Jones was the heir apparent to Emmitt.

If Janoris Jenkins plays the way he did against the Lions consistantly there aren't too many teams with a better CB duo, so he will deffinately face a tougher test on Sunday. To me the most impressive throw RG3 made was the one to Paulsen in the 4th quarter and that kind of thing is what gives me the most hope. Still see us maxing out at 8-8 this year though and his QB rating being in the 80's.

I think the decision to let him throw in that situation was bigger than the throw itself.

Janoris looked like shit in the preseason. Idk what you're talking about.

To a TE in the middle of the field?

Well he was the one who happened to be open. I still think it was ballsy to go on the attack deep in your own territory with a rookie QB under center and the game still on the line.

If you don't take the game situation, the fact that it was his first ever start, in one of the loudest stadiums in the NFL and the timing on the throw had to be and was impecable you're right, it was just a throw to a tight end over the middle.

Looked good in the actual season.

Or against a team that consistently showed an innate ability to shoot themselves in the foot on O all game, along with an impotent defense. Then yeah.

Shanahan gambled that the Saints wouldn't get to Robert Griffin or defend a receiver, which they weren't doing all game, and he won. So let's not crown it as an NFL Games moment, shall we?

A coworker of mine put it best this week. That the Saints looked like a team w/o a head coach *plus some shitty players on D.

*emphasis is mine

Sure, but that still is a high percentage throw. It's not like they asked him to chuck it upfield to Santana Moss or anything.

What does the Saints offense have to do with that throw? The Redskins defense did have something to do with the Saints offense looking bad. They made mistakes but the Redskins played a very good game on D.

I'm asuming you mean't high percentage throw, which it wasn't. The timing on post/seem routes has to be perfect, especially when there's a safety over the top. I've seen so many QB's either throw behind the TE forcing him to break stride and throw it late, causing the ball to be knocked down or intercepted.

Even the best QBs flirt with danger when they test the middle.

It means that if somehow the Saints' D made a play on that particular play to change the course of the game, that they weren't capable of doing all night, then their offense would most likely have shit the bed like they did all game.

Yes, I did, excuse me. And yes, it was a high-percentage throw. Anything beyond 20 yards is considered a low percentage throw, anything shorter is a high percentage throw. That was not beyond 20 yards. Not even close.

And as far as the safety, he wasn't near to closing in on that pass to do anything.

I didn't see an ILB dropping back nearly 10 yards on the Bob Griffin play. There was no confusion thrown at him. Another reason why that play wasn't so gutsy.

And BangersandMash. Malcolm Jenkins is such a ballhawk that he has 3 INTs in 3 years. Bob could have thrown it right to Jenkins and there's a great chance that he drops it.

Bob's just lucky Jason Garrett isn't his head coach, he probably has the Skins run it there, given his history with 4th quarter leads.

That's with Romo as his QB. Yeah, Garrett doesn't trust Romo, or something.
