Idea for keeping Jenkins....

Remember a few years back we experimented briefly (I think Scandricks rookie year) with him playing a "Star" safety position?

Well... safety is a glaring whole for us. We need guys who can cover the deep half.

Poole is a JAG.

What if we kept Jenkins. Had him, Claiborn, and Carr as our top three corners.

And then tried Scandrick in that Star/free safety position?

Play it out this year, and if a good value comes up later in this draft, we can take a raw corner/free safety (Janzen anyone) to develop for next year when Jenkins leaves.....

Thoughts?

I think I read where DBlair menioned this last night. I'm all for it especially if he is going to be here. We have our 2 starters in Claibourne and Carr and we arent paying scandrick 25mill to not play.

I'm no couchscout but I'd think they can play all 4 cb's at once rather than shoehorn a crappy safety into the lineup.

What does Poole do better than Jenkins or scandrick anyway?

Jenkins is only costing a million or so this season. You know one of these guys are going to get hurt at some point and you will be inserting Alan Ball version II into the lineup. I think it’s wise to keep them all. I think you need them all to make an entire season. With this style of defense you need great corners.

Jenkins at Free Safety anyone???

it was in his draft scouting reports in 2008, that he could eventually be a FS and might be better off there

will be interesting to see if its considered
