Catch SportsDay On Air twice per week on Fox Sports Southwest, when Dallas Morning News experts discuss hot sports topics from the Cowboys,Mavericks, Stars, Rangers and colleges (check our TV listings for air times). Here are a few highlights from Monday's episode featuring Rick Gosselin and Barry Horn:

On if there is a new perspective on the Cowboys after beating the Giants:

Horn: “No. Here is what it is. We were so used to watching the Cowboys in the preseason. People dissected every move and didn’t really pay that much attention to the Giants. We’re thinking the Cowboys are playing the Giants of January. Those weren’t the Giants of January, and I think we all got fooled by that.”

Gosselin: “For the last nine seasons, television and the NFL have given the champion a primetime game on Wednesday or Thursday, and they’ve won 11 consecutive games. This was feeding a lamb to the slaughter. The lamb bit back this time.”

On if Kevin Ogletree has secured the No. 3 receiver job:

Gosselin: “I don’t know that we’ve necessarily found the third receiver yet. The guys he went up against hadn’t started an NFL game. His backup, the fifth corner, came in and he lit him up too. There will be a bigger test coming up for Ogletree. There will be third corners he’ll be facing. I don’t necessarily think we’re going to wave him into the Pro Bowl quite yet.”

Horn: “He came in and he was a guy off the street too. He’s come in and has performed. This organization has shown a knack for finding guys who come in and free agents that can play. Look at Tony Romo.”

On Rob Ryan staying silent about his defense:

Gosselin: “For the first time in 17 games, he let his players do the talking for him. For a whole year, he had to get up there and defend himself. There was nothing to defend. His defense did the talking.”

Horn: “He never defends his players. He always takes the blame and puts the blame on himself. It wasn’t his fault. My bad. Bad game plan. Well, there was nothing bad to say about that effort on Wednesday night.”
