Defensive tackle Henry Melton suffered a left knee injury and did not play in the second half. It is the same knee in which he tore his anterior cruciate ligament last year. Coach Jason Garrett and Jones were not sure of the severity.

He wasn't doing anything anyway. The pregame guys (Brad Sham) said before the game that once again, he'd have been inactive if not for injury.

I don't know what the guy's deal is, but I guess Marinelli suspected it with the one-year incentive-laden contract.

Melton was a sham. I had high hopes for him going into the season and thought he'd have LaRoi Glover-like impact. But he never stood out on a bad defensive line.

One year rental and I hope he isn't back next year.

Meanwhile, in the world of team’s playing actual football this weekend, the normal Monday array of injuries is rearing its head.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Cowboys defensive tackle Henry Melton could miss the rest of the season, pending the results of an MRI today.

Melton suffered a left knee injury in yesterday’s win over Washington, and it’s considered serious at the moment.

The Cowboys have been working the fringes defensively all year, and losing Melton would be a blow to a defense that has been plugging in spare parts all year. He had five sacks this year, though none have come lately, it’s still a loss.

Per his agent, he is out a few weeks. Count me in the crowd that doesn't view this as a great loss. He has been all but invisible the last few games, and McClain looked pretty damn good yesterday. Sucks for depth, though.
