For the better or worse, has training camp changed your perception on any players?

For the better

I thought guys like Tim Benford and Cole Beasley were camp bodies who had no shot. Benford was reported by Mosely (which means nothing) as being the leader for the #3 spot, and Beasley has been a camp stand out to date.

Worse

I figured moving Doug Free back to RT would be a good move. Get him back to his 2009 form. While there's really been nothing said about his performance, either positive or negative, but from what I saw versus the Raiders, he looked real bad. Don't want to knee-jerk, but he was pretty bad last year as well. We could very well go into next off sesaon with tackle being a glaring hole.

I'm thinking Garrett has more control (authority / say) than Wade ever did and that the organization has changed enough (i.e., Jerry is old enough) to allow a quality head coach enough power to turn the team into a winner. Not clear that Garrett is the right one, though.

Good - Crawford
Bad - Claiborne + Coale

Crawford is way better than I expected.
Claiborne and Coale haven't been horrible, they've been hurt. Claiborne can still make an impact, I think it's too late for Coale.

Church looked really good so far. That Hamilton kid looked good too. Can’t wait to see them in the shower.

Jerry knew exactly what he had with Jimmy and Parcells.

He wants puppets in there. He couldn't even cocktease the fans with an honest coaching search after he got the stadium built. It's bad bc Garrett is by far the worst coach in the division. Even Snyder is figuring things out.

More than Garrett right now though, I really wanna know wtf is going on with DeCamillis. The special teams play was atrocious vs Oakland and I don't recall it being great for parts of last season also. Are they keeping DeCamillis around as part of a lawsuit settlement?

As far as players go ... Church is especially good news.

Not sure how much of the Dez buzz is hype, but it sounds like he is turning a corner (on the field) and on the way to further capitalizing on his abilities.

Disappointments -- First and foremost - all of the injuries. So many players are out that it is disruptive.

I think Felix has been mildly disappointing for a while. Seems like he's losing even more ground now.

Too early to tell, need to see more. Too many guys have been hurt.

That said, Church is an obvious big positive defensively.

No, I don't think we know anything yet. One incredibly sloppy first preseason game against the Raiders doesn't tell you much, and I don't trust the Dallas media's cooing about everything in practice.
