That was Drew Friggin' Brees.
On a fast track.
In an NFL that has placed an ungodly emphasis on being offensive/passing game friendly.
And yeah, we were playing with a backup FS who's been with the team for 7 week, a fourth option at ILB (Poppinga) who's been with us 3 weeks, a nickleback who's been with us since December 1st, a Dime back who's been with us 2 weeks, a Nose Tackle signed from the practice squad 3 weeks ago, and a DE who signed with us 2 weeks ago and was out of the league most of last year.
We've got spare parts all over the place. Ernie Sim, who signed with us only at the end of October, played only a few snaps and had to be pulled. Alex Albright, a 2nd year UDFA, missed over a quarter of action as well. On, and DeMarcus Ware is playing with one arm basically.
I'm not making excuses. I'm stating facts. We've got guys on defense who shouldn't be in the league. We've done well against two good QB's the past two weeks, but players like Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, and Drew Brees our surgical and you're going to be hard pressed to stop them considering how the rules are set up in the NFL, and how deadly they are.
