Gosselin: Cowboys are 'putting it all on Tony Romo to make up for all deficiencies'
On the whole left by Laurent Robinson:
“They’re putting it all on (Tony) Romo to make up for all deficiencies. They’re selling the fact that when he needed to rely on somebody, he relied on Laurent Robinson last year. I’m not even sure their third receiver is on the roster, quite frankly. I look at the candidates, you don’t say wow over any of those three guys. You look at the third receivers on most teams, and these guys are starter caliber players. The Cowboys are hoping a young guy can emerge and be that guy. This is not a starting caliber guy. If it’s Andre Holmes, if it’s Danny Coale. These guys are going to learn how to be a wide receiver this season. It’s tough to be optimistic when you look at the wholes in this team.”
On Andre Holmes possibly becoming the next Victor Cruz:
“We have to see them in the pads hitting though. They’ve seen him running around doing scout team last year and during the OTA’s. Until you get hit, you don’t know what a receiver has. You can rave all you want about all these guys in May and June but until they put the pads on in August, we’re not going to know… Let’s say Andre Holmes leads the NFL in catches in the preseason. What does that mean? He’s playing against 2, 3 and, 4 teamers.”
