We can only hope. :)

All of the injuries to the current guys prevent us from definitively knowing whether Garrett's plan to man the interior OL with scrubs was a good or bad idea.

But I think we can all agree that the current OL could use some new reinforcements.

That could also mean waiting for someone to be released.

People need to remember the starting center did not play last night, nor did the left guard.

The second string right guard played center last night.

This can and I think will look a last different when we play the rams in two weeks.

8 plays, 2 sacks. If that doesn't wake Jerry up nothing will.

I think it was one sack.

The steelers with the incredible decastro gave up pressure on Ben r last week on nearly every play. He was hit on every play.

Do you think that is waking up the rooney's or do u think that around the league this is just the first preseason game?

We have to give this line some time until the end of camp before judging it.

Mack needs time to work back in after surgeries and costa and livings need to get back on the field.

If the starting five struggle in ny and against Seattle then we are in trouble.

Even so. This line has ZERO quality depth, even if you can wamboozle me into thinking the starters are fine. What happens when one goes down inside?

Everyone else sucks. Dockery was not good last night.

NFL.com is listing two? Hmm. I actually remember only one, but they list 2. The one he got out of and then the sack. ESPN lists 2 also.

I don't know. I imagine the backups are going to be Parnell, mcquistan and kowalski. Maybe they kee more and dockery and Leary make it.

Right now all the backups make me nervous, none more than Parnell.

But again dockery has only been in camp a week and so has Mack. They need time.

Last night was not the offensive line we will see in ny, they didnt even have Jon Phillips out there.

I think when we get all those guys together and I imagine they will all play against the rams we will have a better idea.
Phillips-smith-livings-costa-Mack-free-witten. Or vickers for Phillips.

You also need to remember and this applies to every team in the league, these week 1 games are teams just running there plays on both sides. They are not scheming to protect or exploit weaknesses.

Why do you think Marvin Lewis asked Rex ryan not to run the wildcat....there is no time to scheme for these games and that is not what they are about in week 1 of the preseason.

And btw, I am not saying we are going to have a great line or anything, just saying that when the five starters are together and both starting tight ends it should be a lot different. It might not be, but It is beynd foolish to sit and say these guys suck....blah blah....Jerryjerryjerry......

Just for fun.

The giants gave up five sacks and the steelers seven the other night. And they had there centers.

EDIT: Nope.

The second one was on carpenter on the final possession.

More concerning to me would be the fact that the skins, giants and eagles were able to show the ability to hit the qb in a game like this where we ate just lining up and playing. Shows they have some very good pass rushers and the eagles put up 7 sacks without babin.

I am really not concerned with what 2 super bowl caliber teams did in there preseason games. They are 2 of the best run franchises in all of football

We have won one playoff game in 15 years and I do not understand your confidence in this organization.

I am going to sit and pray that this offensive line somehow comes together and maybe it will, but the lack of urgency we show in addressing the problem is what I am most concerned about.

The only thing i am confident in is that we didn't see our offensive lie last night.

When we do we can then figure out if they are going to be any good or not.

I don't know that we will know how good they are once we see them.

OLs take some time to develop ... to work together as a unit. And there isn't enough time for this to happen before the beginning of the regular season.

We are probably looking at Week 4 or 6 before we have a decent idea of how good they are (or aren't).

yep it will take time.

if they are all together the practice after the chargers game saturday I think that will be a good amount of time for them to get used to each other.

I dont think it will take 6 weeks though. I imagine we will have a rough idea of where they stand by the time they are lining up to play tampa.

You are right, I do assume that they aren't going to play well in the beginning.

And when they don't play well in the beginning, the question will be whether there is hope that they'll get better with time. They really do need to play together for a while before they can be expected to play well as a unit.

The bye week is Week 5. In Week 6, the Cowboys play the Ravens. At that point the Cowboys will be playing a solid team after having two weeks to prepare for them. That's the big test, I think.

But Theebs is right too. We'll have a good bit of data by Week 3.
