Dallas Cowboys running back Tashard Choice believes a new labor agreement between players and owners won't happen quickly.

When asked Monday at the Super Bowl XLV media center if a lockout could be a long one, Choice said "Oh man, it may be. I think so. So I'm planning for the long term, you've got to.

"But you don't know. It'd be crazy without football. It'd be terrible if they do that and you can't play the game this year."

Choice was among four NFL players participating in a Financial Football money management video game with high school students from Irving MacArthur and Pearland.

"To get knowledge about it (personal finances) early is really good for them and how they will live their life and understand the importance of money management," Choice said.

He told students that he mowed yards, umpired games, worked in concession stand to earn money as a youth.

"I used to make the best burger you could make at that concession stand," a grinning Choice added, drawing a laugh from the students.

Off-season work

If team activities cease, Choice said he plan to workout in Atlanta with Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed and New York Jets linebacker Calvin Pace.

"I'll just make sure I eat right, continue to workout five days a week, and stay in shape. When ever you get that call, you've got to be ready to go."

Shoulda been us

A Cowboys Stadium game without the home team is proving to be a hard pill for Choice to swallow.

"It's hard to watch it," Choice said. "You look at other teams out there. But, you know, it's a feeling you want to keep - to motivate you.

"It's really hard to be here and see all the Super Bowl things going on, and how many people are coming in. It's a good thing, but it would be better, you know, if you were playing in the game."
