Romo extension freed up approx. $5M. Still possible gains from a Spencer long-term deal, Free cut, and Vickers cut. I wouldn't cut Free unless I had his replacement ready to sign (Eric Winston, Andre Smith). The rumor is Romo got assurances today the O Line would be upgraded.


So who do you go after?

Brandon Moore seems like a no-brainer. He'll be 33 when Training Camp starts, so I'd be reluctant to do anything more than a 2-year deal. He's one of the only free agents out there who looks like an automatic upgrade over our current starters.

With all due respect to Middie and his man-love for Dwayne Harris, I'd like us to add another WR. Laurent Robinson has the concussion issues so that's probably a no-go. I'd like us to take a look at someone like Darrius Heyward-Bey(age 26) and Early Doucet(age 27), still young but has some physical tools, and see if Romo can work some of his magic with them. Obviously, it would have to be on a cheap, prove yourself, 1-year deal.

If any room left, I'd think about DT Amobi Okoye. Assuming Marinelli, who he just played for, would want him.

Dallas has no depth on the outside behind Dez/Miles. I like Mossaquoi. He's young, has size and apparently Dallas was interested prior to the year he came out. Early Doucet and Robinson, if healthy, are great options too.

About fucking time. This contract backs Jerry into a corner. You going to pay Romo that much, then you HAVE to protect him now. It's a shame that it took this to force Jerry to do what is so fucking obvious to everyone else.

I agree on defensive end.

It appears to be this years offensive tackle.

Throw in that ware won't even do anything until training camp and this is a recipe for disaster asking him to play every snap all year.

Our ends are ware/spener/Albright/Wilber/Crawford

And ware is on the shelf till July. So he might take a little while to get back to form.

Another veteran end to rotate would be nice or a rookie who can play right away and help.

I think I'd like to keep Albright at LB and try Wilber at DE. I would not mind Hatcher getting reps at DE either...similiar to what Sea did with Bryant.
