The Civil Rights-era Cold Case Initiative was actually launched in 2007, so this has been going on for 4 years. They are looking mostly at murders that happened in the '60s but some date as far back as the early '50s. So the 40-60 year time frame is accurate, with most murders happening around 40-50 years ago. So how old were the suspects? I'd guess most of them were men between the age of 20 and 40. Yet the young guys be the muscle while the old guys are the voice. That would put the suspects around 60 to dead.

I'd bet dollars to donuts at least 50% of the criminals are still alive.

It's not like they are going all CSI: Miami on these cases. They were more than half-way through the list last year.

Unless they are going to execute them right then and there, there really isn't a reason to arrest an old guy getting around with a walker who shits his pants if nobody is there to help him.
