I'm too old to waste a season but man if we can get near barky mongo territory it would really be for the best. Something like that is really our only hope of becoming legit with this core

Adding just Mingo to this team doesn't improve us enough we still wouldn't be contenders.

On top of Mingo. Adding another Safety would be ideal, but is the least of the needs

The swing in games a real rusher brings would be exponentially beneficial. Right now were mediocre, but adding him and a solid improvement on the OL would take us into contender status. Meaning we're in the top quarter of teams in the league.


I was watching Mingo 2 weeks ago and he was playing real well. Getting in the backfield and garnering attention. Then when it came time for the final drive the CBS mentioned how he will now be allowed to pin his ears back and really sell out for the QB. On the next two plays he ran right by the tackle virtually untouched and got to the QB. I think the result was a forced incompletion and then a forced interception. Game over.

If we added Mingo in the 1st round and let's say Jairus Byrd in Free Agency, those 2 additions would have a major impact on the team. I'll get super greedy and say we add a Henry Melton in free agency too.

I think you are right in that.

Broaddus speculated this morning that we will see 4-3 type looks with ware standing up as the 5th rusher.

he mentioned we could have a big set with both ratliff and brent inside and hatcher and coleman outside.

but there is also a rush look like we see in nickel situations with ware-hatcher-ratliff-spencer...

it should be interesting. the idea of a 4 man line with hatcher, ratliff, brent and spencer with ware standing up and conner and carter is intruiging.

guess we will find out sunday.

All of these exotic looks from Ryan are purely speculative.

At times, it is hard to tell a big difference now from what we ran when Phillips was the coach.

Only difference is Ryans was a quality player in Houston.

Sims was a quality player at .... Florida State. In 2005.

Also not the same type of situation. Eagles picked up Ryans in the off-season.

We are snatching up Sims mid-season due to desperation. Considering that, I like the signing.
