Was watching the '83 playoff defeat to the Rams on YouTube the other week

it was so cold that the toilets froze in Texas Stadium. it was also the game that ushered in Gary Hogeboom as the starter in '84.

The Cowboys had no business losing to that shitty Rams team in 1983. Those same shitty Rams went on the following week to lose to the Redskins 51-7. The Cowboys had no excuse for that. Hell, they had no excuse for not blowing the Rams away in an easy walk away like the skins did.

It was an all too fitting end to perhaps the worst end of the season meltdown by any Cowboys team. Come in to the big matchup with the skins at 12-2 and should have been 14-0. The losses to the Raiders and Chargers were inexcusable. They had the Raiders on the verge of blowing them out only to blow two different 14 point leads. The loss to the Chargers was to a far inferior team and was the first time the Chargers had ever beaten Dallas.

Then to get blown out by the Redskins and 49ers in successive weeks to end the regular season. Even those were more excusable than the shit show that was the Rams playoff game. I really believe that these three straight losses was when Landry had lost the magic touch.
