Everson Walls still holds the NFL record for most seasons leading the league in interceptions with 3. He lead the league back to back years in 1981 & 1982, and then again in 1985. He is tied for this record with Ed Reed, but Walls did it first.

Tom Landry, as a player for the NY Giants, is still in second place all time in the NFL for consecutive games with an interception at 7 in a row (NFL record is 8).

Walls had 11 interceptions as a rookie in '81. 7 interceptions in the 9-game strike shortened '82 season. So 18 interceptions in his first 25 regular season games. Those are ridiculous numbers in what was then a running league.

Got his ring with the Giants so should be in HOF. Do you think it was 'The Catch' that stopped him getting in?

The Catch might be partly responsible, and I do believe in the anti-Cowboys bias in the Hall of Fame. Walls should be in the HoF and RoH for his work from 81 to 85 alone. It was arguably the greatest stretch by a corner of the Super Bowl era.

And as you point out, 18 picks in 25 games is god level crazy awesome.
