Dallas Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Ware might not need surgery on his hyperextended right elbow after all, a source said.

Ware said a few weeks ago that surgery was a possibility. Ware wasn't available for comment, but this is good news for the Cowboys because surgery would have prolonged his offseason recovery time.

He already had postseason surgery for a torn labrum in his right shoulder and spent Super Bowl week wearing a shoulder harness.

Ware, who had 11.5 sacks last season, most likely would've had to miss some offseason workouts had he had the second surgery. He now should be ready for the start of training camp in late July.
