IRVING, Texas - Head coach Wade Phillips said rookie safety/kickoff returner Akwasi Owusu-Ansah appears to have a high ankle sprain, an injury that normally requires several weeks of recovery.

The fourth-round pick left Cowboys Stadium in a walking boot, saying he hurt it on one of his five kickoff returns. He entered the game ranked 27th in return average (22.0).

With nine games remaining, it's uncertain how much time Owusu-Ansah will miss.

As a kick returner he wasnt what we all hoped for.
