yeah lets keep arguing about his 40 time and ignore the fact that since he's come into the league he's made everyone who faces him look stupid.

The Eagles are a worthless offense, so its' a wash.

Besides, playing a bad defense doesnt' give a runningback more burst or give him more speed.

Those two attributes are real.

6) I said it last night. I said it last week. I've said it several times this year. Rob Ryan is the worst DC this team has ever had. He is a clueless putz. His defense was shredded by a team playing without their starting QB, best offensive player (McCoy) and most explosive playmaker (Jackson), and they had a hodge podge OL blocking for them. Nick Foles said after the game that "they played really soft coverages all night". Collinsworth and Michaels said during the game that nobody blitzes less than Dallas, and nobody plays more 3 man rush/cover 8 than Dallas. The defense is garbage. The scheme is garbage. I am 99.9% sure he'll never get another DC job in the NFL after this year.
.

You do know that the Dallas defense is missing ratliff its two inside lbers and its starting Safety and one of its CBs and are forced to start players off the street? Sims, Frampton, Sterlin, Peprah, Agnew, Poppinga. As much as the eagles have players who arent starters the Cowboys injuries and changes on defense trump that by far. Foles is player better than Vick was playing and it doesnt seem like the eagles have missed much in their RB game. Brown is really good. And Jackson? He has 2 100 yrd games this yr and has 2 tds. What are they missing?

I wouldn't say the Dallas defense is missing Ratliff at all. Brent is playing just as good. And he can actually play a whole game without hurting something.

Extension time! Break out the checkbook, Jerruh. That's 12 good games from Brent. I'm thinking at least 5 years - maybe 7.

Idk, but I think the idea that the Cowboys revolutionizing the way the 3-4 D is played by having an extremely quick NG has been put to rest.

It hasn't panned out as hoped. And who knows? That may be the one constant with this defense.

This team's philosophy is "if it's broke don't fix it."

I fully expect Ratliff to get his job back whenever he feels like playing again. That might be as late as the start of next season.

It's got to be Jerry's philosophy or desire because it was the same under Wade as it is with Rob. We run a 3-4 with the smallest 3-4 d linemen as well as smaller ILB's. A 3-4 works best with big, roadblocking D Linemen and bigger ILB's who can take on guards 1-on-1 if they have to. We have this "cute" little scheme and then wonder why teams can always run on us, especially when it counts.

You'd think that the benefit of our scheme would be faster pass rushers and better coverage guys but that hasn't really worked out either.

Jerry isn't innovative enough to come up with that idea (and the kind of player he was in college and the draft position doesn't peg him as a Jerry pick). I think it was simply Parcells having to get the guy on the field, because of his motor, and he didn't have the length to play DE, so he just stuck him at NT. Then the following coaches couldn't take him off the field because was doing so well there, although it was hurting the scheme.

He's kind of a catch-22. You can't faze the guy out and get rid of him because he's going to excel elsewhere and people are going to think that you made a huge mistake although it's probably better for your team in the long run if you run a 3-4.

It was Wade's idea to go small everywhere, and that was the right call because you need guys who can defend the pass all over the field.

Ratliff has been kept at nose because he's awesome there. It's where he likes playing. And when he's healthy he's great - our second most disruptive player. Putting him at end isn't going to protect him any. Across the board in the NFL centers are much smaller than tackles.

9) How the hell does a team give up a 98 yd punt return after the other team tried to block the punt? How does Joe DeCammilis stay employed?

He hasn't taken Jerry for all he's worth re: collapsed dome

interesting.

I mean law and order degree and all but how funny would it be if Decamillis milked his job until right before some sort of statute of limitations kicked in then sued Jerry's ass?

The paralyzed scout got $24M total from Jerry and the Dome builder. I'm jelly tbh.

I wonder what his scouting reports look like

I will say the good news for Ratliff was that I thought "wtf are we missing someone? they're killing us on the inside". I don't always say that about other guys

How do you explain the Success that Wade has had in Houston the last 2 years?

I actually agree with you but it just doesnt add up to me

Wade is a good DC. You look at his track record, teams almost always seem immediate and significant improvement defensively.

As time wears on, his defenses start to have less and less success. Some of that may be happening already down there, as Detroit and even lowly Jacksonville tore up their defense.

Houston has drafted 3 olbs the last 3 years using 1st or 2nd round picks.

we've used two firsts and two seconds on LB's, all 4 of them start and all 4 of them are good players, two of them are tremendous players...you might want to start making another argument
