Nice first half, especially the first quarter. Even without 3 premier talents in Bryant, Witten and Austin the passing game looked very explosive.

1) Romo is throwing with some of the best accuracy I've ever seen from him, it also looks like he has more zip on the ball to me. The offense, even with a middling OL seems very explosive and Romo's continued progress is why.

2) Wasnt thrilled with the OL, but hopefully with continued work and getting them all healthy they can at least be an average unit. Its not that it was a sieve last night, but I am concerned. Not worried about Tyron Smith and Bernadeau looks decent, but the other 3 spots are concerns for sure. Put me down for predicting a massive OL draft next April. If I'm Garrett and Callahan, I'm probably pushing Jones & Jones to entertain a trade or two for OL's NOW, and at the least I'm keeping a major eye on the cuts coming up from other teams. I know Livings is probably nowhere near game shape, but he was underwhelming to say the least, and Arkin is a project. The biggest head scratcher to me though is Free. He was very good at RT in 2009, was good at LT in 2010 and impressed several teams enough to warrant really good offers on the open market prior to last season. But last season was poor, and the move back to RT so far is mediocre at best.

4) I've never seen a TC/PS with so many injuries, ever. Its just mind boggling.

5) Starting D still hasnt given up a TD, and the real starting 11 still hasnt been on the field together for a single play. Impressive. I think significant improvement for 2012 is highly likely. If we have a top notch D, it can definitely overcome some of the shortcomings we may have on the OL.

5) Roger Goodell is the dumbest sack of shit in an officer position of any professional sprots league, and it isnt even close. Why the owners allow such a fucking moron to run this league is beyond me. These scab officials are absolutely laughable. 8th grade officials know the basic rules of the game better than these bozos, and this is what Goodell is saying he's comfortable with for the regular season and beyond.

6) As I stated in Mid's thread, I was convinced prior to camp the 3rd WR wasnt on the roster. Now I'm convinced we have alot of really quality players at the position. I think any of the 3 between Ogletree, Harris and Beasley can handle the 3rd WR spot. Garrett is really assembling a good coaching staff here, Robinson's work with the WR's is impressive. Phillips and Hanna (and even the Sczcerba guy) are also playing well at the TE position, and the DB's looked very well coached for the first time in years.

7) Dan Bailey is money. He's good for a win or two a year IMO.

8) What kind of douchebag is so desperate that he has a fake punt run from deep in his own territory in a preseason game. Oh yeah, Jeff Fisher.

9) I watched the game curious to see how Michael Brockers looked, since he may have been plan B had we not traded up for Claiborne. My first thought after watching the game was he didnt play, but then saw the boxscore and saw that he was credited for 3 tackles. Wasnt impressed, and I think when all is said and done we are gonna be thrilled with Caliborne.

Broncos, up 17-0, just attempted an onside kick.

interesting note on dan bailey, he prefers chris jones holding over romo and feels like jones is a help in the kicking operation.

also to add I think ogletree and harris have showed everything the team needed to see.

Know the offense, lineup at multiple positions, move the chains, catch the ball and show toughness.

i think they both have done that. they both have made tough catches in traffic when getting big hits put on them.

The fake punt was probably some kind of automatic call they have in when they see some kind of imbalance.

And that's one of those things you like other teams doing to you in preseason. We'll probably be more aware of it now.

my initial thought was, I wonder if there was an agreement about this type of play before the game.......

Claiborne by himself was worth more to us than Brockers, but then throw in Crawford. I know there were plenty of people that wanted Janoris Jenkins. I'd say avoid any player with the last name Jenkins, especially if they're a CB.
