At least we have fireworks and pyrotechnics as well as the biggest tv screen in the world.

You know, that star used to really mean something and I used to love seeing it and what it stood for. Now it stands for shit and it makes me sick to see it because of the piece of shit team we have. It's one big stupid hillbilly show.

You'd be an advocate of bringing Nick Saban in here?

lol

No thanks. If we go college coach, give me David Shaw from Stanford.

Saban is a great coach. Just because it didnt work in Miami (which had all kinds of turmoil going on) doesnt mean he couldnt ever win big in the NFL. Now whether he even wants to try again, thats a legit question.

Shaw is interesting though.

Telling you people. Red is gone.

Hopefully Ryan gone too though. If Red is gone but somebody decides to keep that fat dumbshit as DC, no progress would ever be made.

I don't get the Ryan hate, although I wouldn't cry if he left.

You can win with this defense. He's got a lot of guys out, and really... not a quality safety in the group.

The offense certainly doesn't help him at all. Does Ryan ever get to call his defense with the lead?

I would hope that whoever the next HC is, that he gets to hire his own staff. Jerry assigning assistant coaches to the HC is a big part of the problem here.

If I were a betting man, I'd say that everyone is coming back next year. But Jerry might force Garrett to give up play-calling duties before the 2013 "win or else" season.

Rex runs the entire D in NY, so he'd have no need for his brother.

Jerry has publicly said it was his decision for Jason to call plays. He has said that since Wade Phillips he made a decision that one of the coordinators would also double as HC. It's not Garrett's decision. If Garrett stays, he will remain as the play-caller as well.

Jerry assigns a staff to his head coach because Jerry knows what is best for the team. We have an advantage with an owner/gm.

Just ask him.

Oh, and on topic, I don't think there is a chance in hell that Garrett gets fired this year. He was Jerry's puppy from the time he was hired on as OC before the HC was even hired.

Sure, and they blow it almost every time.

The offense has been awful, but the defense is garbage too. No pressure. No turnovers. Folds everytime in crunch time.

See, this is how Jerry has f'ed up how we look at things. In a normal organization, the HC goes, and when a new HC comes in he brings in the staff HE wants to work with him. He decides who goes and who stays. Not the GM. But, we have had to deal with this redneck moron for so long we have lost sight of what a true structure is supposed to look like.

If Payton's contract is VOID as it possibly might, then NO doesn't have a choice.

The contract was voided but it wasn't because of the bounty stuff. Goodell said it was something in the wording of the contract itself. They can still reword the contract and sign him if Payton agrees to it.

Correct, or he can play the free agent coach market and look around.

The playcalling alone is NOT the sole problem. It's also the total lack of discipline. Garrett has lost this team; the players are not connecting with him. That has nothing to do with playcalling. You can turn over the playcalling, but the players will still remain just as undisciplined and have a lack of focus.

I think Garrett's system has a lot to do with the false starts. Can't really pin the holds on that, but maybe if we gave the Oline less chance to do that by getting the ball out quickly, that could remedy it some.

False starts are lack of discipline, not anything really to do with playcalling.

And the fact that it happens at home so much is further indictment.

Shaw is interesting though.

Saban's style of coaching won't work here. It's much easier intimidating young men than it is established NFL vets.

Nothing he does at Alabama is terribly creative, he just has so much talent every year.
