How many of these will we sign?

Definitely some interesting names for us. (Note, not sure how accurate this is. Bijan Robinson is definitely not a free agent)

Call me crazy, but if Daniel Jones wanted back-up QB money, I'd bring him here. Enough of the non-sense at that position. Or draft a QB to develop.

This has to happen in this draft or next year's draft for sure. It's been far too long since we invested properly in the QB spot.

I think Jones will get legit starters money. I will say I have no faith that Milton is capable if something were to happen to 4. Hopefully they've figured that out and will address the #2 spot accordingly.

So if the Rams and the Bears win we end up with the 19th pick. But if the Bears win and the Rams lose we end up with the 20th pick.

At least that’s what it looks like at this point

Under Jim Leonhard (2017-2022), Wisconsin's defense was consistently elite, ranking in the Top 5 nationally in total defense four times, including #1 in 2021, and consistently top-tier in scoring defense and rushing defense, often leading the Power-5 in key metrics like third-down efficiency and yards per game allowed. His tenure saw a dominant run, with the defense ranking first in total yards allowed (284.8 ypg) and pass efficiency defense (110.5) over his five seasons.

Annual Total Defense Rankings (AP)
  • 2017: 1st
  • 2018: 41st
  • 2019: 8th
  • 2020: 5th
  • 2021: 1st
  • 2022: Strong start, ranking top 10 (e.g., 11th through early season)

Key Metrics (2017-2022)
  • Scoring Defense: 3rd nationally (17.3 PPG)
  • Total Defense: 1st nationally (284.8 YPG)
  • Pass Efficiency Defense: 1st nationally (110.5)
  • Rushing Defense: 3rd nationally (103.4 YPG)
  • 3rd Down Conversion Pct: 1st (30.5%)
  • Takeaways: Tied for 4th most among Power-5 teams

Overall Impact
Leonhard built one of college football's most feared defenses, known for stopping the run, forcing turnovers, and dominating on third downs, establishing Wisconsin as a perennial defensive powerhouse.
