The Dallas Cowboys intend to fill one of their four roster openings once they get to California with veteran offensive tackle Demetress Bell, Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas repors citing a source.

Bell, who started five games last year in Philadelphia, would have to pass a physical before the deal becomes official.

He signed a five-year deal with the Eagles last year worth nearly $35 million but was released in February in a salary-cap move. The Cowboys had been in contact with Bell's agent as they worked through Doug Free's pay cut earlier in the spring and finally came to an agreement.

Bell, 6-foot-5 and 311 pounds, gives the Cowboys a veteran option as a backup at either tackle spot. He started 35 of the 40 games he played for Buffalo and Philadelphia. Free, who will earn $3.5 million this year, and Jermey Parnell will compete for Dallas' starting right tackle spot opposite Tyron Smith.

Agreed. Like it a great deal.

He wasn't that good in Philly last year, but he's more proven than Parnell and likely better than Free. And he has experience on the left side.

Bell likely to be left tackle depth for camp. In 7 gm w/ PHI, gave up 3 sacks, 9 Qb hits, 21 pressures. - 24.5 grade from @PFF

Now I'd like to see us sign a (third) Quarterback who can actualy complete passes. If nothing else, just to make sure everyone in camp gets good reps. Kind of hard to see what your 3rd team WR's can do if the QB is short-hopping every pass. Same for the younger guys on Defense. They need to defend against NFL-caliber passes.

We already have a QB that can like throw a football over a building and make it in a trash can. What else do you want?

Cool. Wonder why he struggles hitting 6 foot 3 receivers who are 18 yards away from him then?

That is an amazing video.

Likely won't translate to shit, but would be awesome if it did.

Maybe he is more of a master of the handoff with an occasional play action bomb to a guy in the back of a truck.

I don't think we'll need him to do that, but it wouldn't surprise me if Garrett had that in his playbook.
