IRVING, Texas -- The Dallas Cowboys will sign defensive tackle Jeris Pendleton and have him available for this week's minicamp.
Pendleton (6-foot-3, 328 pounds) played in four games last year for Jacksonville and had four tackles. He was a seventh-round pick by the Jaguars in 2012 after a two-year career at Ashland University. A Chicago native, Pendleton was set to go to Michigan State before family obligations led to a six-year hiatus from football. He played two years at Joliet Junior College before transferring to Ashland.
Pendleton will turn 30 on Nov. 7. He was cut by the Jaguars last month.
The Cowboys will have to make a roster move to meet the 90-man limit before they sign Pendleton.
