Cowboys interviewing Mike Nolan for assistant job

Posted by Darin Gantt on February 2, 2016, 3:10 PM EST
The Cowboys are still looking to replace departed defensive backs coach Jerome Henderson, and are looking at a pair of veterans.

According to Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the Cowboys are talking to former 49ers head coach Mike Nolan and former Steelers and Giants defensive coordinator Tim Lewis.

Henderson left the Cowboys for a title, becoming the defensive passing game coordinator with the Falcons.

Nolan was the Chargers’ linebackers coach last year, and hasn’t coached the secondary. He spent four years as the 49ers’ head coach and has three stints as a coordinator since then, with the Broncos, Dolphins and Falcons.

Nolan coaching history. His father was Landry's defensive coordinator for a number of years before leaving to become the Niners HC. He came back to the Dallas staff in the 80's and worked as an asst on both sides of he ball.
