The Cowboys have three more preseason games to play but they are already thinking about their first regular-season opponent, Washington on Sept. 12 at FedEx Field.

With a new head coach in Mike Shanahan and a new defensive coordinator in Jim Haslett, the Cowboys have broken down the Redskins' first preseason game to get an idea of what it will be like this year. It helps Washington has Donovan McNabb at quarterback because of their history against him while in Philadelphia.

"We work on some plays they have and some defenses they have," coach Wade Phillips said. "We weren't sure what they were going to do yet. They just played their first preseason game. We are pointed toward that first game. That is the only one we can really do anything about, so you want to be as ready as you can be."

Me too, but the only thing about the preseason games are teams seem to be more vanilla.
