Cowboys CB Brandon Carr has accepted a paycut. Was scheduled to have a base $9.1M, cap number of $13.8M. Base now expected to be under $6M.

I think Heath's a lock but both Carr and Claiborne only have 1 yr deals essentially, so either of them could be gone still.

you don't know how Jerry thinks. this means no Ramsey, even if he's there.

That's like a knife in my head every time I see or hear Heath is coming back.

That's about the same as saying no Zeke because we already have McFadden, Morris, and Dunbar.

Letting Murray get away tells you how much they value the RB position. Are they gonna pay Zeke when his time comes up?

No but they can get enough production out of Elliott until then. Plus if they really are thinking win now at all costs before Romo is gone that would be a semi affordable way to do it. Then let him Murray right out the door when he hits the open market at the end of his contract

They let Murray go because he was constantly hurt throughout his career and only had one really good year.

Big difference.

yet they made him a generous offer to return. and we found him in the third round, not the top 5.

No that tells you how much they valued Murray. They would have resigned him if he was willing to take the $4 mil a year they offered him. As for will they pay Zeke when his contract is up... How the hell should I know? If he rips off 5 straight All Pro seasons and stays healthy I would think yes. But again, how the hell would I know that.

This is one of the reasons why it would be stupid to draft Elliot AT #4.

I'd rather trade down --- hope someone wants the Tunsil dude.

Archer:

The Cowboys offered Murray a four-year, $24 million contract that included $12 million fully guaranteed, sources told ESPN's Todd Archer.

So $6 mil a year with $12 guaranteed is still very reasonable. What would a 4th overall player get on their rookie contract?

Well, at least Carr is admitting he sucks so bad that no other team would be stupid enough to throw any dollars at all his way. Only the Cowboys are that stupid. I still maintain that a UDFA making league minimum will give you better results than Carr.

Saw where Jon Machota was claiming this is another example of what a great leader Carr is. :lol :facepalm

The DMN is such a joke these days.
