Country-club atmosphere at Valley Ranch? Garrett says, 'No comment

Jimmy Johnson says the Cowboys are stuck in a country-club atmosphere at Valley Ranch and that no one is in fear for their jobs.

Jason Garrett, one of his former players, was asked about it at his Thursday morning press conference at Valley Ranch.

“I don’t really have any comment on that,” he said. “We do things the way we do things here from a football standpoint, and we believe that we practice the right way, we meet the right way and we create the right atmosphere of urgency for our players. It’s what I learned as a player and coach in this league, and that’s what we’re trying to create here as a football team.”

I think the "No comment" is a concession.

Otherwise, why not just say "I disagree with that sentiment."

Jason knows, just as everyone knows, the culture in Dallas is flawed. Jerry not only wants to be the main guy and get all the glory, but he also wants to be one of the guys. He wants to be liked and respected.

No one fears the boss.

That is a major problem.

That's how I took the "no comment" and how I see things with this organization. Who in their right mind would want to be the head coach of this team when you have an idiot with no clue assembling the players for you and making all the football decisions. On top of that, most of the players are lazy, stupid, and have no drive to play any more than 16 games in a season.

This team needs some major changes. The first change needs to be Jerry having absolutely nothing to do with football operations. The second change needs to be getting rid of this entire coaching staff. Some of the scouting staff needs to be shown the door too - namely the person who scouts offensive lineman. He's horrible. The third change needs to be getting rid of these stupid, entitled, soft players that are killing this team. Then we can start drafting and signing players who are mentally sharp, want to play football, want to win, are of high character, and can be held accountable. No more Dez Bryants on this team. Ever.

This is a huge mess, but it can be fixed. Hopefully this becomes a nightmare season for Jerry and he's forced to step back. I think we're seeing the begining of it. I hope it continues. Us losing out the rest of the way wouldn't bother me one bit.

Groundbreaking shit there cmd34. Literally no one else thought similarly.

Props to you.

Thanks. No bowing star thingie ?

Yeah I get that. It's just that a certain message board and a few people here have said Jerry and the atmosphere he's created has little to do with the actual football team's performance on the field. I think more and more people are finally coming out from underneath the rocks and seeing the light. Even the media seems less and less tolerable of Jerry's BS.

The bottom line is that this team just isn't very good.

They need better players. They need a better head coach. They need a less intrusive owner.

They don't need new facilities. Facilities may be the only facet of this organization that doesn't require an upgrade.

I disagree that the facilities don't need an upgrade.

They need a new football stadium. Feel so bad for our players having to play in a mini-mall slash art gallery.

There are high school stadiums in Texas that are better than that shithole jerry built.

That's right, don't say anything Jason, because we know you don't have the balls to barge into Jerry's suite.

I have no direct knowledge whether the atmosphere is country club or gay singles bar.
I do know however that this team finds a way to lose even with their best efforts.
Why do other teams seem to be able to make effective coaching changes and free agent decisions, while this team flounders more and more?:jerry

Amen to that. To be honest I don't know how long I can keep this douchebag as my avatar.

He still hasn't picked a winner.

We need to move the seats closer to the field, lower ticket prices so real fans can afford to go to the games, eliminate these assholes from buying up large amounts tickets and then selling them to the opposing fans, and do whatever else we can to make it a better atmosphere for our players and an unfriendly place for the opposing team.

Right now we play in a $1.5 billion piece of shit.

Jerry can stick his tickets up his ass. I haven't been to a game since Jimmy was our head coach. Don't plan on it either.

I went to one game in 1998 against Carolina. Garrett was the quarterback. I really wanted to see a big game from Irvin but Mr. Bible thumping Chain Gailey refused to include him in the offense. Against his religion. Glad he was canned.

I won't be going to any more or spending any money on anything Cowboys related until Jerry steps down.

That's definitely true. But that still doesn't explain as to why Garrett is an equally flawed playcaller and clock manager.

None of it will matter though because a lot of the Cowboy's fanbase don't have a clue, and will continue to buy Cowboy's merchandise and tickets at the Taj Mahal.

Plus Jerry has the opponents fans in his pocket as well.

Bingo. We need to assemble a bunch of guys, or a majority of guys, who can rise above the tumult provided by the Owner/GM/Marketer and FO.

But then, Parcells tried that here, and we ended up with a big, unathletic roster.

Parcells was past his prime and made some really bad personell decisions - but he made some good ones too.

Jerry cannot have anything to do with the football side of the Dallas Cowboys any longer. It won't matter who's on the team or who we have coaching until that happens.

Parcells planet theory is outdated in todays faster offense friendly NFL. He didn't adapt. He also didn't give a shit. We got the Parcells in name only.

Miss his press conferences though.
