Dallas Cowboys: Source: Cowboys have inquired about ex-Dolphins coach, former Dallas TE Dan Campbell | SportsDay
Aside from the usual and obvious indicators being present (i.e. Something Norv-related or San Diego related), the possibility of Campbell might be as simple as replacing Mike Pope who is geriatric and may be either blamed for the offense failing or maybe retiring, Or, maybe Campbell's experience with the zone blocking, designing plays and motivating players will lead to a "running game coordinator" position. Frankly, since the passing game and WRs can never be blamed or improved, Jason or Jerry may look to replace Callahan. Jerry keeps talking about getting back to '14 and he may have noticed that Linehans running plays based on Jason's pass offense were not clicking as well.
It's really calling a plumber to improve the pipes when the issue is electrical but if Campbell has an effect on the running game, then it's better than Linehans terrible designs which were one size fits all and other than Whiteheads sweeps, were rather predictable. McFadden ran well in space, outside and in draws. Linehan would have you think that McFadden was Jerome Bettis. Maybe these running plays were originally meant for Steven Jackson when Linehan was coaching the Rams.
