8:57 David Moore: Good morning from the Alamodome. The first full-pads practice is underway, with special-teams work.
Sunday July 25, 2010 8:57 David Moore
8:58 David Moore: Linebacker Jay Moore becomes the shortest-lived player in franchise history. Rather than wait on Moore to sign, the Cowboys essentially told him to forget it and brought in former Texas Tech linebacker Brandon Sharpe. With Keith Brooking, Stephen Hodge and Brandon Williams all limited to various degrees, the Cowboys needed linebacker depth.

Any word on exactly how MartyB hurt his ankle? If it was messing around when he shouldn't have been then I am concerned that he has not changed his focus to football as Jerry has asked him to do.
Sunday July 25, 2010 8:58 HappyGilmour
8:59 Gerry Fraley: That the Cowboys refuse to say how it happened raises my suspicions about what did happen. Given Bennett's history, it is logical to wonder if he were doing something foolish.

There was talk of Free looking bad yesterday. Was this first day rust or does this bode well for Barron?
Sunday July 25, 2010 9:00 HappyGilmour
9:01 Gerry Fraley: Who was saying that? Hard to an OL to look bad in a no-pads practice. I saqw nothing wrong.

Is Sicko competing for a spot on the 53 man roster or the practice squad?
Sunday July 25, 2010 9:01 Sean
9:02 Gerry Fraley: He's got a legitimate shot at the 53-man roster. Could see no fullbacks on this roster.
Sunday July 25, 2010 9:02 Gerry Fraley
9:02 [Comment From HappyGilmourHappyGilmour: ]
Calvin Watkins and Timmy Mac over at ESPN said that. "Twice during team drills, backup outside linebackers blew by Free for what would have been clean shots at Romo's back. Free didn't get a finger on Brandon Williams or Steve Octavien as they turned the corner on simple speed rushes."
Sunday July 25, 2010 9:02 HappyGilmour
9:04 Gerry Fraley: That's risky business, making a judgment on line play in a no-pads situation. I'd prefer to watch what happens today in pads.

How is Roy Williams looking ?....is he dropping any balls yet ?
Sunday July 25, 2010 9:05 Steve
9:06 Gerry Fraley: Saw one drop yesterday. Operating out of the spotlight might help Williams. All the attention is on Bryant.

Do you think Columbo has fully recovered...and is back to form?
Sunday July 25, 2010 9:07 SCRface
9:07 Gerry Fraley: That is a question to be addressed in this camp. Thought he came back too soon last year. He had big problems vs. Minnesota in the playoff loss.

Does Romo look like he has lost weight?
Sunday July 25, 2010 9:07 Anthony

Does Sicko have the frame to be a lead blocker into the hole. He looked "lean" in the only pics I've seen of him.
Sunday July 25, 2010 9:07 Sean
9:08 Gerry Fraley: At first glance, he is a bit light. Might need a year in Joe Juraszek's strength and conditiioning program.

third tight end can be used as an H-back or a fullback. Cowboys used three tight ends late last season as John Phillips emerged. He's a good blocker.

How many receivers we keep last year? 5 or 6? Its gonna be rough deciding the odd man out. Hurd ST ability is a plus...but we're too deep at the position for him to make an impact, minus injuries of course.

9:12 Gerry Fraley: Went with 5 last year. You're right about Hurd on speical teams. the flip side is that teams like to keep turning over the roster.
