Percy Harvin asks the Vikings to trade him
Posted by Michael David Smith on June 20, 2012, 9:35 AM EDT

APVikings wide receiver Percy Harvin hinted on Tuesday that he’s not happy in Minnesota, and now he has asked to be traded.

The Associated Press reports that Harvin has requested a trade from the Vikings. However, the report says the Vikings don’t expect to grant that request because the team still views Harvin as one of its most talented players, despite the occasional headaches (literal and figurative) that his presence brings.

Harvin arrived in Minnesota as a first-round draft pick in 2009 and has shown great playmaking ability as a receiver, runner and return man, although he has also been an unhappy camper at times, and he’s been hampered by migraine headaches. Harvin has two more years left on his contract and is scheduled to make $915,000 this year and $1.5 million next year, and he likely views himself as underpaid, although he declined to get into specifics about whether his contract is the reason he’s unhappy.

Ultimately, it seems likely that Harvin will play this season in Minnesota, and will do so under his current contract. And will remain unhappy.

Minnesota gets a talented former first round corner in a pass happy division that features Rodgers, Stafford, and discount doublecheck guy.

Dallas solves their third receiver problem, and adds an incredibly talented and versatile cog to the offense.

Win Win, or This Aint Madden?

Minnesota probably getting the worst of that deal but not by much.

I would love, love, love that trade. 3rd WR and Return Man issue solved.

Minnesota is still sore from the Herschel Walker deal, they'd probably duck our calls.

It's like they don't even realize what I did with Patrick Crayton and Laurent Robinson.

I don't know about the nworse of the deal. Harvin has those migraines.

Yes Harvin has migraines but our current 3rd WR candidates are all suffering from a lack of talent and ability.

Correct. And it isn't like Jenkins is a prize. He's recovering from a bum shoulder and has that "not so fresh feeling."

If Dez and Miles go down Tony will throw a game-winning TD to fucking Jesse Holley for chrissakes.

If Carr and Claiborne go down...

They saw what Matt Millen did to Jerry though.

If Dez and Miles go down or if Carr and Claiborne go down ... this team is in real trouble either way.

The chance of cluster injuries at either of these positions shouldn't be the most pressing concern, though, given what the team has at G, C, and G these days ... Trade Jenkins for a quality center and I'd be happy.
