During a live chat during the Cowboys' morning training camp practice on Tuesday, news broke that Brett Favre may be retiring. Gerry Fraley and David Moore, our Cowboys writers involved with the chat, were skeptical when asked for their initial responses.
Gerry Fraley: I'll believe it when I see it. The drama queen loves the attention. Key is getting him to sign the retirement papers, required for financial payoff to departing veterans. Until he signs those papers, Favre can do whatever he wants and extend the drama.
David Moore: If Favre is done, what does that mean for the Cowboys chances in the NFC this year? The last time the Cowboys saw Favre, he threw four touchdown passes against them. What can the league do? It's his decision. If the Vikings were willing to let this drag on, it's on them, not the league. Until a player files his retirement papers, nothing can be done.
