My point wasn't that we should have drafted a QB in rnd 1 recently. My point was there is no evidence that Tim Lincecum won't be our QB in 2014.

They did try to draft and develop a guy fairly recently. He just didnt work out. They were also pretty torn on the Brady Quinn thing in 2007 IIRC.

I think with what happened post-Aikman, odds are we are going to spend a fairly high pick pretty soon to find Romo's successor. The problem is if you sign Romo to a mega extension, you are kinda rendering a decision to draft a guy high pretty moot. He simply wont be playing for years to come, making it a wasted investment.

He was a 4th rd pick. He was drafted where he was expected to go. Had some talent to work with and good size, arm strength and mobility. He just didnt pan out.

The 13-3 year, yeah, but what happened that day against Giants? Nobody pass blocked, and Crayton shat the bed twice late. Romo made those throws.

Its so easy to say, "hey, 1-6 buddy.", but can you honestly say that Romo was at his worst in every one if those games? Or has the team come up short and he was part of that?

I'm as sick of the SOS, but its the whole fucking package, not just one guy that can't get it done. Fix the shortcomings, nobody is asking for probowlers at every position, but competence would be great.
