How old will Romo, Witten, Ware and Ratliff be in 3 years when some Saudi billionaire buys the team and hires a GM to run it?

Oh, that's old. What a waste of 3 HOF careers and one very nice player.

You are seriously comparing the Cowboys to the Jags?

Yes... nailing one Oline pick (at the top of the draft, no less) excuses years and years of ineptitude re: drafting Olineman.

Olineman drafted by Cowboys since 2001:

Matt Lehr
Cha'Ron Dorsey
Andre Gurode
Tyson Chandler
Al Johnson
Justin Bates
Jacob Rogers
Stephen Peterman
Rob Petitti
Pat McQuistain
EJ Whitley
James Marten
Doug Free
Robert Brewster
Sam Young
David Arkin

But it's cool. It's cool. 'Cause we got Tyron at #9 last year.

Andre Gurode was one of the best centers in football fro a number years, and made multiple probowls. Flozelle Adams was also a really good pick.

They shouldnt have released Stephen Peterman so soon, he's now a dependable starter for Detroit and even earned a long term extension there.

Doug Free was also a good pick.

Flozell drafted in 1998.

Gurode and Free.

Okay... 3 out of 17 during a 10 year period.

SUCCESS!!!!!!!

And the other 80% of that list would have also been pro bowlers if it weren't for those meddling kids.

Most of them were pretty late draft picks

Doesnt excuse the poor results. I'd be more concerned though if they had repeatedly used early draft picks on guys that couldnt play.

And Parcells overruled scouts on both Al Johnson and Jacob Rogers

Let's not forget that Gurode was drafted to play guard for us an was awful until someone said. Maybe we should try him at another position
But I guess it counts.

He wasnt awful, but he was far better at C

Think about it like this. Jerry pretty much already wasted their careers.

You'll feel better, trust me.

I've already come to that conclusion. When you watch your franchise QB run for his life for 4-5 years, and the only answer you have for it is signing other teams' castoffs and late round camp fodder, it's pretty much clear.

But wait, we drafted Tyron Smith. And Doug Free is average. Plus Callahan. We're good.

Honest question outside of a few squads with elite units is there any team really different? One or two good players then some scrubs who can hold their own with the right coaching/system?

srs question.

I don't know. I'm not asking for probowl players at every position. I think it's fair to expect competent protection for your franchise QB, though.
