Former President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with prostate cancer
Former President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, his office said Sunday.

Karma, do your thing.
We used to joke about "John Gill Biden" but now, eerily, it seems to have been all too true. Only question left is, who played Melakon.Biden is 82. He is already 4 years beyond the life expectancy for an American male. These is no karma here. It is the natural cycle of life. Biden's time is coming to an end, the same end we will all face. No karma, just inevitability.
The Karma comment wasn't directed at BidenBiden is 82. He is already 4 years beyond the life expectancy for an American male. These is no karma here. It is the natural cycle of life. Biden's time is coming to an end, the same end we will all face. No karma, just inevitability.

The DRE is really only useful to diagnose BPH or Prostatitis. The PSA test can be misleading too. I registered a 6 in 2020 and had to have a biopsy. It's unpleasant but I'd take it over a cystoscopy. Objects inserted into the urethra is barbaric. Why do you have it done annually? Do you go under (anesthesia)? Here is a link to an article on the subject of the recommendation for DREs to find prostate cancer. In the article there is a statement that a DRE finds only about 28% of cancers in men. That is astonishingly low.
From my experience the DRE is uncomfortable, and if it is also inaccurate then why bother. I undergo annual cystoscopies for bladder cancer screening which is very uncomfortable but physically and emotionally, but it is nearly 100% accurate in finding bladder cancer and other tumors. If it was 28% accurate I would pass on it, at least annually.

I had bladder cancer a few years back. After the tumor was removed (under anesthesia), I had to have a cystoscopy every 3 months for a year, then 6 months for a year, and then annually for the rest of my life or until I decide I don't care anymore.. There is no anesthesia for a normal cystoscopy. They only put me under if they have to remove tissue. The procedure only takes a minute or two and thankfully I have been clear of any abnormal tissue growth since the initial tumor was removed. At this point I think I have had 16 or 17 cystoscopies. I have learned that giving up one's dignity is a necessary step in survival once you get older.
Last year I had to have one to remove a kidney stone that was blocking one of my ureters. I was under for that. It didn't work so I had to have a second one.
I don't know that it is barbaric, although it seems unnatural. Dentistry is barbaric!
