Cowboys' Sean Lee could lose $2 million if he doesn't play Sunday

If you've ever wanted to call in sick to work, but couldn't afford to miss a day's paycheck, consider how Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee must feel.

If he doesn't play Sunday, he'll lose $2 million.

Lee suffered a hamstring injury this week and is listed as questionable for the Cowboys' season finale Sunday against the Redskins. The 4-11 Cowboys have nothing on the line in the game, so the prudent thing to do would be to sit Lee.

But the Dallas Morning News reported Lee has a playing time incentive in his contract that will pay him a $2 million bonus if he is on the field for 80 percent or more of the team's snaps this year.

The newspaper stated that Lee's playing time percentage currently stands at 82.1 percent (812 of 989 plays) this season. If he misses Sunday's home game, he will fall below the 80 percent mark.

The playing time incentive was put in there because he's fragile. Smart move by us to protect ourselves.

Sorry Lee. Sucks but try taking your vitamins and eating your vegetables.
