Ex-NFL star Antonio Brown is in custody.
The former wide receiver was extradited to the United States to face attempted murder charges related to a shooting in May outside a celebrity boxing event in Miami.
Brown, 37, was apprehended by U.S. Marshals and was extradited from Dubai, though it was unclear when he would be handed over to authorities in Miami.
“Miami Police confirm that U.S. Marshals have apprehended Antonio Brown and that he has been extradited to the U.S.,” Miami PD spokesperson Mike Vega told NBC News. “No date has been set for his transfer to Miami-Dade County.”
Brown was taken into custody at Newark Airport and was booked into Essex County Jail in New Jersey on Thursday, NBC6 in Miami reported.
