Seems to good to be true. Not the player - although he's very good. Rather the fact that we finally hit on a fourth rounder.

I'm sure it's just a coincidence, but we always seem to whiff in that round.

So, with that said, do you resign McClain? Seems like he's a luxury we can't afford now, with our limited funds and pending free agents.

I think most people knew about Kirksey, but even Iowa fans thought Hitchens was a solid, but not great LB

Iowa guys are usually fairly well coached on the fundamentals

How were the draft gurus so wrong on him? Or what did we see that others didn't? I was out of town that week and was only halfway paying attention at that point, but I happened to be listening to the Ticket right then and I remember everyone bashing that pick when it was made.

Because he really does look pretty good.

The things that the scouts wrote about him though; his quickness, his smarts and his physicality are standing out now. He just isn't a great athlete is all.

And mid, yeah, re-signing McClain would be a luxury. I'd re-sign Durant to the much cheaper contract he's going to demand and have him start at Strong, keep Lee in the middle and use Hitchens at weakside. Then go get another Hitchens who can back up at all 3 positions in the middle part of the draft again.

Most in the Cleveland organization thought Kirksey was just going to be a core special teamer this year. The injury to Dansby kind of opened the door for him and he ran with it.

I think keeping Lee at MLB is foolish. He's going to let us down.
