The Pittsburgh Steelers are on the clock until 10:09 PM.

This could take us to the end of tonight's draft. If Pittsburgh gets it in asap cythim (Denver) can get his pick in.

Sorry, Todd, I keep posting in the pick selection thread.

But why have the Falcons take Nick Toon?

If a GM is not online and the clock runs out, and no value board was submitted, we take the highest rated player available from the CBS SPortsline rankings, provided the team didn't select a player from that position previously.

Couldn't you have the pick be closer to a team need?

Robot teams get BPA according to cbssportsline's draft board. Only exception is if they have already drafted a player at that position in this draft. Keeps opinion out of it and the polls were taking too long.

Oh, well, that process kind of screws up the draft because it becomes a bit unrealistic.

Meh. Then it becomes a judgement call, requires research, debate, which need is greater, etc.

By the time the clock runs out, people just want to move on to the next pick so fuck it.

Not really. You can say the Falcons don't need a receiver, but how many years did the Lions draft receivers in back to back years? In the mid rounds, it's not that uncommon to see teams take BPA and shit.

Again, we're trying to get through this as painlessly as possible. These aren't easy to run. That's why it'd be ideal of GM's provided value lists.

Hell... even just a "take the best guard available" or something like that.
