I was surprised with the OL as it was not the complete train-wreck I imagined. However, it is clearly our weakest link and to suggest otherwise is foolish. We cant keep relying on plugging in backups and castoffs as Jerry loves doing.

I still dont understand why Murray turned it inside on his long run, even if he was gassed.

Something I didnt see mentioned was the new punter. The guy was booming it. Very nice to see.

Nate Newton was not kind to the o-line on his show today.

Well the penalties were ridiculous, and Romo made them look so much better.

I sure as shit wouldnt want to imagine what it would look like if Romo werent the playmaker that he is.

Positives:
Romo - I'm not sure why people have an issue with him. Great game last night. This team is lucky to have him.
Bruce Carter - Very active. If he pans out, it is really going to help this team.
The secondary - The Giants went after Claiborne and he held his own. The team stood up well against a pretty solid receiver group.
Ogletree - Maybe the light is coming on.
Bailey - When he lined up for the FG attempt last night, I thought to myself "This will be good". I haven't felt that way about a kicker in a long time.

Negatives:
Penalties - You aren't going to win many games with that many penalties
OL - I still don't think it was great. Run game struggled early. Pass game and fatigue opened it up I think.
Opponent - Don't get me wrong. Great win on the road. The Giants are dinged up though and I'm not sure they are going to be that great this year. They were down to their 5th corner? Locklear at LT.

The next two games are very winnable. Seahawks and Bucs. Then the Bears, a winnable game, prior to the bye. Need a fast start and this helps a lot.

I can't explain it, but there was something I actually liked about the refereeing tonight. Especially early.

They let the players play for the most part. Things didn't get shitty until we went up by 7 and were threatening to go up 14.

That's what it was. They let the guys play. Did you notice there wasn't a single illegal contact penalty on defense tonight? DBs (especially ours, playing press) had their hands all over their WRs all night with no call. That's how the game used to be called before 2004 when the league powers that be made a conscious effort to increase scoring. I wish that's how the game would always be called because I for one am sick of 48-45 games. Of course the league for some stupid reason likes games that look more like a basketball game.

I was thinking about that this morning good thoughts both of you. They let them be more physical and it was fun to watch.

Sorry for the late bump to this thread, but I wanted to echo this observation. The game did seem more watchable. IMO, the striking refs have adopted too large of a role. Better to let the players play.

I had a hunch that the replacement refs were going to keep a lower profile. Here's hoping it continues.

When I was watching the game live I noted to mr. Kitty that the D generally just looked much tighter. They really had their shit together. No ones slipping on the turf every 2 seconds, no ones hobbling off the field every 2 seconds. Tackles were strong, there was alert ball stripping efforts.

Wouldn't surprise me if Jenkins plays like week 4-7 and gets traded hopefully w/ heavy playing time Tie-in for compensation.

It feels less special here without each member having a personal moderator. How's dbair supposed to hilariously threaten fake infractions now?
