New proposed CBA could pose problem for Cowboys

Give me a break. You know as well as I, that I'm more even-handed than that. I don't take a "Polly-annish" view of the Cowboys. If there is something that sucks about them, then I admit to it. That's probably a more difficult job than taking every piece of info that concerns the Cowboys, and...

New proposed CBA could pose problem for Cowboys

Is that what it is! Sometimes I barely recognize the truth after it's been through the infamous SBK "truth-spinner".

New proposed CBA could pose problem for Cowboys

Focusing on just the 6-10 season is as narrow as Wade focusing on the 13-3 season. The fact is this team did string a few successful years together, and those that participated in that success were rewarded. I wouldn't have resigned Barber to that huge contract, but I can understand why they did.

New proposed CBA could pose problem for Cowboys

Many teams are going to have similar problems with their 4-year vets suddenly becoming UFA's. There are going to be many potential holes in many rosters.

Another Analyst Down On 'Boys CBs

You look at the names the Cowboys have at corner and yeah, I see folks optimism in that the position doesn't need any additional help. But then I look at the numbers. It wasn't the pass rush that totally fell apart last season. It was a middling 16th. It was the pass defense. And yeah as...

Should the cowboys sign a space eater at DT....?

There's some merit to that argument. But most space-eating NT's do not have any where near the pass rush capability that Ratliff has. For me it comes down to, which is more difficult to find? A DE who could supply some pass rush in passing downs or a DT who could supply some pass rush on...

Should the cowboys sign a space eater at DT....?

It seems that there are many that believe that keeping Ratliff as a NT is ultimately better for the Dallas Cowboys. Does everyone believe that? No. But it seems that enough believe that Ratliff is a better NT and that moving him to DE isn't any sort of "slam dunk" smart move.

    ranking all 11 OFFENSIVE starters

Agreed. Romo should be #2 on the list.

Should the cowboys sign a space eater at DT....?

If the Cowboys were serious about moving Ratliff to DE or greatly reducing his snaps I think they would have drafted a NT, but being that they didn't, then Middy is right. Brent will be the backup to Ratliff and will provide relief.

Eli sucks and doesnt belong in top 100... lowlights from 2010

In addition I seem to recall some pretty amazing receptions by Giant receivers.

Eli sucks and doesnt belong in top 100... lowlights from 2010

Pretty much my spin on the guy. Not a top-100 player, but in that 101-200 area.

power ranking the 11 defensive starters

The top 3 are solid. And yeah, everything gets a bit murky after that. I think the sad thing is that at least based on 2010 stats, the other 8 players really were shatty. I can't put Newman over Spencer. Newman did have the picks and the tackles but he was beaten like a drum far too often...

    free agency look ahead

Agreed, paying out those big contracts via free agency is absurd most of the time. I think the same can be said to one extent or another when it comes to resigning players. I cringe when I think of the Barber contract. I feel less angst for the contracts that Flozell Adams, Ken Hamlin and...

    free agency look ahead

I think there are positions like QB, OT and DE/OLB where if the guy is playing at a very high level and is less than 30 years old then the big contract is warranted.

Cowboys draft pick OL David Arkin

That's a good point Bob. Obviously the guy needs some athleticism and strength to go along with the discipline not to quit on a play.

Dallas must commit to the run, not a runner

I understand what the author is saying. I'm just not buying this statement: "You take the opportunity to set the tone for the way the ball is run in the new NFL."
