I guess the confusion is you said "extra points" to me that means you are saying something to make that as an advantage over whats in place now (extra=more). Almost everybody gets 7 pts now when they score a TD. Again, you only GAIN something in your argument by making more than half of them...

Counselor, that would only be true if you made the 2pt conversion EVERY time. (100x2= 200, 91x1= 91) You MIGHT net an extra 9 pts if you assume a 50% conversion rate of the 2pt shot AND your kicker fails 9% of the time on the PAT. Again teams with good kickers have a much higher than 91%...
