    We definitely would have if his salary wasnt what it was. They had multiple offers though, but Cleveland was the only one that ask the Cowboys to pay some of it.

    Not a bad idea, but Brown had a pretty fair year and 5 million is not that much for a starting CB. That said, barring injuries I doubt Brown is the starting CB next yr (unless he is the #3 guy) as I think our 2nd rd pick is gonna win that job pretty easy. Kid has a ton of talent.

    Only so much negotiating you can do when the guy is due 20 million. I cant remember who it was Friday but they posted the Cowboys were hoping to get a 3rd and might settle for a 4th. They got a 5th plus a trade up in the 6th, so close to a 4th.

    The 20 million is what prevented us from getting more. Apparently the Cowboys did have some other offers, but the Browns was the only one where we didnt have to pay any of his existing money.

    Trading or releasing Collins now doesnt create that much cap room. Waiting till after June 1st does though. If they dump Collins now, its because they truly don't want the guy here. Which I think is true.
