I really don't have that much of a problem with the coaching staff staying in place. This year was a nice surprise, the wrinkles and FIVE FUCKING WIDE not withstanding, I'd rather they not have to retool their game plan for a new set of coaches.

Colts, you have a point Washington... I said the better teams. If memory serves, second and goal from the two against Detroit. Nada. Granted on 3rd down Murray was stopped, and had to run wide to get it in on fourth and goal from the 2, but this formation on short yardage is over-used and an...

That's my point and I'm a schlub on his couch. At least make the defense guess. It's a frigging free-for-all sprint to Romo on these plays.

I don't agree. With a seasons worth of film, that money play/formation eventually is read and adjusted for by better teams. It didn't work in the Detroit game and it cost them in the GB game. 6 and 4 sacks respectively, with a lot of them coming on plays when merely 2 - 6 yards were needed. 4-2...

Thoughts, now that we've slept on it.

I’m sticking with my same complaint: poor coaching. I don’t really care how the formation may have played out during season, but yesterday and last week, this pulling Murray on 2nd and short/3rd and short and lining up in an empty backfield is just plain crap. If you don’t trust the leagues...

Divisional Weekend: Dallas Cowboys @ Green Bay Packers

Unfortunately I agree. Next season, Romo and Witten are a year older, with another year of wear and tear. Squandered.

Divisional Weekend: Dallas Cowboys @ Green Bay Packers

Well, they shouldn't have to rely on shit like that. They got away will bad play calling last week, but set the template for how they can be stopped: empty backfield on 2nd down. Fucking dumb, dumb, dumb. Just key on Romo and it's over.

NFL: Holding missed on key fourth down conversion

Pffft. Score more than 3 points in 30 minutes and you might stand a chance. Crawford was basically tackled from behind on Stafford's long run. Anyone care to write a thesis about the first half officiating hi-jinks? I would have sworn Detroit brought their own crew.

NFL: Holding missed on key fourth down conversion

I wonder if any other play-off game has been as parsed as this one. Cowboys won! Not fair!

Werder/Mortensen - Linehan could join Cowboys staff

Bingo. That play-calling was driving me nuts. 2nd and 6, empty backfield/shotgun. Not even a play action, just that horrible formation allowing the D to just rush full throttle at Romo. If they ran once on 2nd down, I honestly don't remember it. They won despite that nonsense.

Wild Card Weekend 2015: Detroit Lions @ Dallas Cowboys

I know, I just hate the narrative that's going to be constructed from it. Like the Lions were robbed of a Super Bowl if that hadn't happened. Stafford could have fumbled as well as any other possibility.
